seafood restaurant in tuas

like i said in an earlier blog, some people enjoy seeking out eateries that serve good food in out-of-the-way places, like, in tuas, for example. came across an old straits times' wong ah yoke's review of hai siang joo seafood restaurant, about an eatery tucked away in a certain corner of tuas called pioneer road.

the place is not difficult to locate. it is in the direction of the second link. but instead of taking the main road leading to the link, you take the side road which will lead you to tuas west avenue. take this road till you come to the junction with pioneer road. pioneer road cuts across the intersection. you keep to your right and turn right into pioneer road. a short distance ahead is the food centre where you will find the restaurant.

the place caters mainly to the factory workers in that area but there are some regulars who come from other parts of singapore.

ordered the specialities of the house: the xo sauce crystal kway teow and the braised pork ribs. we also tried the superior shark's fin soup. the braised pork ribs did not disappoint but the other two items fell short of expectations.

the next time we want to have dinner in tuas, i will rather go to seng's kitchen at quality road or to botak jones at pioneer sector 2.
