labrador nature reserve

one of the contraptions at labrador park;
looks like a windwane

the lianas on this tree seem to be straddling and strangling it

the flower of the putat laut (barringtonia asiatica), one of the unique trees found in this park. the flowers are delightful puff balls of white stamens tipped with purple ( reminds me of the filament type of lighting.) they open at night and attract large moths and nectar-feeding bats which are attracted by the strong scent.

all parts of the tree contain saponin, a poison which is used for stunning freshwater fish in streams.

other unique trees found in this park include the
sea grapes, the yellow saraca and the purple milletia.

the children's playground has 'aeroplane' as its theme.

this is not the latest map. the latest map should show
the extension that has been completed on the left.
