lunch @ wah kee, clayton

ida and ivy were at the airport to welcome us to melbourne. as we had expected, lay bee and bel took nearly two hours to clear customs because of the food that they had brought along. by the time we collected the rental car - a 4-litre 7-seater ford territory - it was almost noon. lay bee drove ivy's car while i drove the rented one.

we took the tullamarine freeway to head for the south-eastern suburbs. when we reached ida's place at lantana st, clayton, it was still drizzling. cissy was home, so she let us into the house. it was about half an hour later before lay bee joined us. the two cars then proceeded to ivy's place at atlantic street, clayton.

after leaving some stuff at ivy's place, we drove to clayton to have lunch. we had lunch at wah kee. after lunch, we did some shopping at the chinese grocery store and at coles. we then drove to monash hotel/motel along the dandenong highway. chye hup's family had booked a family room for a week, paying aus$770 for the one-week stay.
