keppel island (pulau keppel)

saw this modernistic cable stayed bridge linking the mainland to a small island while we were approaching the cruise centre on board the superstar virgo. was curious to find out more about the island and the developments that were going on.

just found out today that the name of the island is keppel. it used to be known as pulau hantu (ghost or devil's island). there is another pulau hantu, the better known one, further out to sea, near the sisters' island. went snorkelling around that island decades ago.

also familar with this island as we used to pass it on our way to sentosa. those days, sentosa was known as pulau belakang mati. then, there were neither cable cars nor causeway bridge, so we had to rely on bumboats to get from world trade centre to the island.

looks like apart from a marina - marina @ keppel bay, they will have a food and beverage outlet, located within the marina. this eatery called prive on keppel island will open on 11 december 2007. it will comprise a fine-dining restaurant, a gastro-bar and a bakery-cum-cafe.
