afternoon tea @ ms marples tea-room
when pei chern flew in from sydney, we went to glen waverley station to pick her as she had taken the train there from the airport. from the train station we headed straight for the dandenong mountains.
we travelled in two cars: ivy, ida and pei chern in one, the rest of us in the rented car. ivy led us to our first stop - the sky high observatory. at 633m, it is the highest point in the surrounding ranges. there is an admission charge of aus$4 for each vehicle.
from the observatory, on a clear day, visitors can get a panoramic view of melbourne eastern suburbs as well as parts of the city.
there have been some changes since our last visit to the observatory. there is now an exquisite english garden. there are also two sculptures which were not there during our previous visit.
our next and other stop was ms marples tea-room in the village of sassafras. we had to rush as we were aware that they stopped serving tea after 4.30 p.m. we had tea, ice-cream and scones. found out later that the place was popular and famous because of the scones.

Hi, it's a shame you wasted your time on commercial ice cream when just 4 shops from Miss Marple is a brand new ice cream shop selling "the Best" (and they have the awards to prove it)ice cream and gelati in Australia.
It's called Licketty Licks and worth a visit next time you are in the Hills. Don't forget most cafe's use the same ice cream we buy in the supermarket, so it's no big deal
Enjoy the Dandenongs next time you go.
